Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a hands on technique designed to specifically address fascial restrictions.
The technique may involve a gentle sustained hold into the restriction or a more aggressive stroke through the restriction. The purpose is to return the fascial system to its healthy state and eliminate undue tension.
Note: The fascia is a thin white substance (for example, the skin found on chicken) that has an important role in the support and function of our bodies. It covers and penetrates all aspects of the body and is one continuous structure from head to toe. In its normal state, fascia has the ability to move and stretch without restriction. Trauma, inflammation, surgical procedures and poor posture can negatively affect fascia, causing it to become tight and restricted. When it’s tight and restricted, it can become a source of tension to the rest of the body.
